Mitochondrial
Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, oxidized form) is a central redox coenzyme. Research on NAD+ itself includes human infusion and metabolome studies, as well as broader NAD pharmacology reviews. Precursor strategies (e.g., nicotinamide riboside, NMN) are related but are not the same material as NAD+.
NAD+ supports sirtuin and PARP enzymatic activity and cellular redox balance. Direct NAD+ exposure studies document plasma and urine metabolome changes during infusion; precursor routes raise the NAD+ pool through biosynthetic pathways.
