FDA warning letters

Weekly Research Update · September 11, 2026

INDUSTRY UPDATE

On September 1 the FDA posted five warning letters issued August 24 to online research-peptide sellers: Peak Performance Peptides, Royal Peptides LLC, NuScience Peptides LLC, Peptide Partners LLC, and TXP Innovations LLC (Tex Peptides). Reviewed products included retatrutide (“GLP-3R”), semaglutide, SS-31/Elamipretide, Tesamorelin, PT-141, and bacteriostatic water — all treated as unapproved new drugs.

The agency explicitly rejected “research use only / not for human consumption” language where marketing, pairing with bacteriostatic water, or claims established intended human use. Intended-use doctrine overrides disclaimers. This is a direct enforcement signal against the research-peptide e-commerce model. Research-use-only positioning remains high-risk when any human-use signals exist.
